Middle East Update

October 2015 saw Philip Payne return to the Middle East for a number of reasons.
The first is that our group sales operation "Thorlux LLC" had reached its' first anniversary and a general review was required to assess the highs and lows of our first year with 2 x "FWThorpe PLC" Directors travelling to glean first hand a view  of local operations.
The second was to launch the recently Kitemarked Philip Payne automatic Emergency Lighting monitoring and test system - SPECTOWEB.

As previously an event for local specifiers was organised and a presentation delivered featuring the workings of SPECTOWEB and its' compliance benefits to the local UAE fire and safety code. Attendees were given a copy of the new UAE brochure showcasing the products that have Civil Defence Approval across the region.

Emergency Lighting Conference - April 2015

As one of the main sponsors Philip Payne were delighted with the attendance and positive feedback from the industry conference held in London on 23.04.15.

Delegates from the building design fraternity sat alongside end users with a common goal of further understanding the challenges that immerse emergency lighting compliance.
These  ranged from the non negotiable statutory requirements to the obstacles faced when trying to ensure the aesthetics of a designed area are not compromised by Em Lighting.
Philip Payne remain market leaders when it comes to the latter -  see https://www.flickr.com/photos/philip-payne/sets/   for shots of some of our project work including The Walkie Taklie , The Gherkin , The Shard , Shakespeare's Globe , Wembley Stadium , Royal Ascot and many other iconic London and UK landmarks   .

Another Civil Defence Approval is uploaded to Payne website

Further to approvals in Qatar and then Dubai  permitting supply of life safety critical emergency lighting products under local Civil Defence Approval schemes  , Philip Payne has this week achieved CDA certification in Abu Dhabi.

Copies of approvals can be viewed at the accreditations page at www.philippayne.co.uk

Following on from the launch of the Philip Payne brand in February , (see below) enquiries have been flooding in for product that meets safety criteria required for legal use on new and existing buildings in the Gulf region.

The F. W.Thorpe Group (of which Payne is a subsidiary) launched Thorlux Lighting LLC   in the summer of  2014 to promote all of it's brands  in the region. Working with "the LLC "and with local CDA partner Cignetix , Payne are confident they can maintain the impressive start they have made since the launch.

Current approved products include a range of BSI kitemarked Exit Signs and Emergency Luminaires and it is hoped that their full automatic test system , SPECTOWEB  , will be launched in the region later in 2015.

Issued by BSI, Payne holds ISO9001 registered Firm status FM55077 and Kitemark licence KM587259

Philip Payne Launches in UAE

On the back of a CIBSE/SLL CPD Emergency Lighting evening and a specific brand launch event Philip Payne announced it's arrival as a compliant emergency lighting player in the complex UAE market.

Following civil defense approval, Payne invited guests to two back to back evening events; one purely educational in local Emergency lighting  requirements under the UAE code of Practice and the second a more relaxed introduction to the ethos of the company as being design friendly but technically competent and compliant.

Both events were well received and the launch also took to the road, delivering presentations to the likes of Atkins and WSP in their local offices the region   .
